FAIRMONT — The latest candidate filings for Fairmont City Council have created races for all three open seats.

Joe Loughmiller of 207 Sisseton Drive filed on Monday for the Ward 2 council seat, currently held by Ruth Cyphers, who filed for re-election last week.

Also on Monday, Michele Miller of 1000 Albion Ave. filed for the at-large seat, creating a three-way race so far. Last week, Jay Maynard filed for the at-large seat, which represents the entire city, as did incumbent Tom Hawkins.

In Ward 4, incumbent Wayne Hasek and Terry Anderson filed last week.

Filings are open until Aug. 11.

Filing for City Council must be completed at the city clerk’s office on the second floor of City Hall.
