Truman pool set to open
TRUMAN — The Truman spruce-up group wishes to thank those on their donations of money for paint. You’ll see them painting murals, barn quilts and other projects around town.
When you see them painting an individual’s business, the business has paid for their own paint.
Truman swimming pool will open Wednesday. Hours will be 1-5 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m., seven days per week. Lap swimming will be available noon Monday-Friday.
If you have any questions or want to know about swimming lessons, call Kim at (507) 402-0830 or Faith at (507) 236-6817.
Prairieland is accepting household hazardous waste, appliances and electronics every Wednesday by appointment only. To make your appointment, call (507) 776-3232.
The re-use room will not be open this year.
Recycling will be Wednesday. Containers must be placed curbside by 7 a.m. the day of service. All cardboard must be broken down.
Summer lunch for all Truman district students is beginning.
Pickup for children ages 1-18 will be 11 a.m. to noon each day at the center glass doors right in front of the cafeteria. They will no longer have a pickup site in Lewisville, as they had many days that no lunches were picked up.
If you want to have a lunch, please contact the kitchen to make arrangements.
Note: There will be no lunches for the week of July 1-8.
Madelia Community Hospital and Clinic will again offer free sports physicals to area athletes through Aug. 27. Athletes entering grades 7-12 and attending Truman High School are eligible for free physicals.
Sports physicals will be offered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. Athletes who need a sports physical are invited to call MCHC at (507) 642-5200 to set up an appointment.
Prior to coming for the appointment, athletes should print, complete and sign the Minnesota State High School League sports physical form. The form is available on the MSHSL website at https://bit.ly/2ArFvZo
