Ceylon Community Day auction set
CEYLON — Just a reminder that today is the first official day of summer.
Also, on Sunday, it’s Father’s Day, so let your dad know that you love him.
Thanks to all those foster dads and stepdads who are like a father to our children.
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will hold a 5:30 p.m. service tonight.
St. Paul’s Lutheran in Wilbert will host a 9:30 a.m. service Sunday, with communion.
Please follow pandemic rules of social distancing at all churches.
St. Peter Lutheran and other Circle of Faith parishes are holding video services and are discussing reopening for live services.
Ceylon Community Day will be held July 25 with a live auction.
There will be a Red Cross blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. July 7 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome.
Also, a blood drive will be held from 1-6 p.m. July 15 in Ceylon.
Appointments and masks are a must to allow the Red Cross to plan for social distancing and to perform sanitizing to help keep donors and staff healthy. To make an appointment, call (800) 733-2767, go online at www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999. Use the Rapid Pass option to lessen your wait at the donation site.
The city of Ceylon asks residents to mow grass so that the clippings do not go into the street. This helps keep algae out of our lakes and streams.
Thanks also for flushing only toilet paper. Products that say they are flushable do not always break down and instead clog the pumps.
