Poppy sales are cancelled

By Sharon Rosen 2 min read

WELCOME -- As it has been almost two months that we have been in stay-at-home distancing, the news is about things that are cancelled.

First, the Relay for Life in Martin County is cancelled. Welcome Legion and Auxiliary meetings are cancelled until further notice. The Memorial Day program is cancelled, and the selling of poppies has been cancelled. Since monies from poppy sales go to veterans projects such as the van fund, the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne, etc., donations will be gladly accepted instead of poppy sales.

With more people at home, the city would like to again remind residents to only flush toilet paper into the sanitary sewer. Some products may be billed as flushable but they do not break down and instead clog the pumps. This is expensive to clean out and repair. Thank you for helping.

n

Also a reminder from the city that parks are open but there is no sanitizing performed on the equipment.

Stay safe and stay well.

Starting at /week.
