Blood drive slated in Ceylon

CEYLON — Friendly Neighbors Card Club enjoyed their luncheon and afternoon of fellowship last month at Legends II, but will not meet during April. They ask members to stay home and take care of themselves to stay healthy.

n

Tuesday morning coffee hours in April that were to be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Trimont are cancelled for April.

n

The rummage sale usually held at Martin Luther High School in Northrop has been postponed until June 4-6. They ask that area residents pray for our nation during this crisis.

n

Fairmont Area and Martin County West Schools have been sending meals for students not in schools. There are bus stops for Fairmont students at 9 a.m. in Ceylon and for Martin County West students at 11:15 a.m. at the fire hall in Ceylon. There are also stops in Welcome. For more information, contact the school.

n

American Red Cross blood drive from 1-6 p.m. April 6 at Legends II in Ceylon is still on, as blood supplies are still needed.

Each donor will be checked for fever and other signs of illness, and equipment will be wiped down more than usual.

Use the Rapid Pass opportunity to shorten your donation time if possible. For more information or to make an appointment, call (800) 733-2767, go online at www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999.

All area churches have suspended services and activities until further notice, in accordance with the shelter-in-place order from the governor of Minnesota. They ask that area residents look for devotions and videos from churches on social media, and to pray for the nation and all the workers who must go to essential jobs.

There has been a suggestion on social media for all the nation to pray at 8 p.m. daily for one minute or more. Sounds like a good idea to me.

n

Ceylon Community Day Auction has been postponed from April 18 to July 25.

Personally, I believe Minnesotans are used to making due and being snowbound at home, so this is just another incident like that for us, sort of. Take care and stay healthy.
