Truman FFA celebrating this week
TRUMAN — Truman FFA is celebrating National FFA Week.
Join them for their annual community pancake breakfast from 6-9 a.m. today in the ag shop at the school. This is for students, families and supporters. Donations accepted.
Also, join the FFA for baby animal day from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. There will be a wide variety of animals including lambs, pigs, alpacas, dairy calves and others. All these animals come from the kids in FFA. The public is encouraged to attend.
Today’s FFA members are the innovators and leaders for tomorrow.
Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday. All meetings are open to the public.
American Red Cross blood drive will be 1-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lewisville Legion. To make an appointment, call the American Red Cross at (800) 733-2767 or go online to redcrossblood.org. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
Truman Pride will meet 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the media center at Truman High School. Come join and help support the students and school.
Recycling day is Wednesday. Please place your recycling container curbside by 7 a.m. with front facing the street.
All Truman Public School students will be on spring break March 4-6.
Here is a local scholarship opportunity for students: Bruce P. Larson was a long-time employee of Easy Automation Inc. in Welcome. Bruce lost his battle with cancer May 3, 2015.
In honor of his commitment to excellence, EAI is providing a $1,000 scholarship to a student pursuing a degree in a program from his area of expertise. This scholarship is for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Students attending a two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school are eligible.
