Benefit set for Kennedy family

CEYLON — There will be a cribbage tournament beginning 1:15 p.m. today at Legends II in Ceylon.

Next weekend, a cribbage tournament will be held at 1:15 p.m. Dec. 21 at the Welcome Legion.

Sounds like a fun way to spend a winter afternoon.

A benefit for the Dustin and Jesse Kennedy family will be held 4-8 today at Legends II Bar and Grill in Ceylon. The Kennedys lost their home in Ceylon and all its contents in a fire Nov. 12.

A meal of a pork tenderloin sandwich and side dishes will be served for a donation to the family.

There also will be a silent auction, bake sale and meat raffle.

Everyone is welcome.

An account has been set up at Farmers State Bank in Dunnell. Donations can be sent to Kennedy Fire Account, P.O. Box 67, Dunnell, MN 56127, or by calling the bank at (507) 695-2724.

Dustin works at Brand FX in Dunnell. Jesse works at the Good Samaritan home in Jackson. They have two pre-teen children.

Lawrence Schultze, formerly of rural Ceylon, celebrated his 90th birthday Wednesday. Congratulations and best wishes for more happy birthdays. Cards will reach him at Lakeview Health Services, 610 Summit Dr., Fairmont, MN 56031.

Upcoming events include a holiday celebration from 2-5 p.m. Dec. 21 in the banquet room at Legends II in Ceylon. Bring your camera as Santa will be there around 3 p.m.
