SHERBURN — Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn will hold ‘Guest Day’ 2 p.m. today at their church. There will be a program followed by a dessert lunch. They invite anyone in the area who’s interested to join them.

Martin County West Jr./Sr. High School choir will present a concert 7:30 p.m. Friday at the high school gym in Sherburn. The public is welcome.

Sherburn American Legion Club will host a steak fry night from 5-8 p.m. Saturday evening. Be sure to stop in for a delicious meal.

Ruby’s Pantry will be in Sherburn from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday at the Regional Worship Center (across from Kum & Go). The doors will open at 5 p.m. Please bring two totes, boxes or laundry baskets for your food. There is a cost of $20 with no residency or income restrictions.

A farewell reception for Daryl Hoewisch is planned 10 a.m. Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. This will immediately follow the 9 a.m. service at the church. Daryl has been the director of youth education at St. John’s for the past 22 years. All friends and community members are invited to come and thank Daryl and his wife, Sonia, for their service to the church and to the community.

Open gym time for anyone wanting to get a little exercise is held 2-4 p.m. every Sunday at the high school gym in Sherburn. Men’s Night is held 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the gym.

An open house 90th birthday party for Florine Brolsma of Sherburn will be held 2-4 p.m. on Dec. 18 at Temperance Lake Ridge. All friends and relatives are invited for refreshments and to wish Florine a happy birthday.

An American Red Cross water safety class will be held Dec. 21 or Dec. 22, with the date being determined by instructor availability. The class is open to anyone at least 12 years if age or older who would like to be a certified water safety instructor aide to assist with lessons at the Sherburn pool. Sherburn indoor swimming pool is open once again. Open swim times are held 1-4 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday.
