Soup supper scheduled in Truman
TRUMAN — Heartland Senior Living is holding trick-or-treating from 4-5 p.m. today. Come dressed in your costume for candy and hot apple cider.

Daylight Savings Time ends Sunday so remember to set your clocks back one hour when you go to bed Saturday night. Enjoy that extra hour of sleep.

Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday in the meeting room at the fire hall. All meetings are open to the public, with time for questions/comments.

Trinity Lutheran Church youth group will host an election day soup supper from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday. Come and enjoy homemade chili or chicken noodle soup, peanut butter or egg salad sandwiches, bars and beverage, all for a donation.
This meal has been an election night tradition for many years, and many community people have attended. Come for a great meal and community fellowship.

Wednesday is recycling day. Please place your recycling container curbside by 7 a.m. with all cardboard flattened. Remember, just because there is a recycling symbol on it does not mean it can be recycled. This includes such items as egg cartons, pizza boxes, styrofoam and plastic grocery bags. Plastics with 1, 2 and 5 are accepted.
Make sure all items are rinsed out and clean, so they don’t contaminate the other recyclables.

If your student in grades K-5 wants to be a part of “Kids in the Kitchen with Hy-Vee Friends” to be held 3:15-4:15 p.m. Nov. 14, you must pre-register by Nov. 7.
They will learn skills in the kitchen and get comfortable making snacks and finding their way around the kitchen.

Children in kindergarten and up can create their own “Thankful Tree” to take home.
To be a part of this Thankful-Grateful-Blessed class, please pre-register by Nov. 7. The class for 10 participants will be held 4:15-5:15 p.m. Nov. 12. The cost is $5.

Truman Museum is scheduling a veterans coffee from 1-4 p.m. Nov. 8. Coffee and goodies will be served to honor veterans in the area who served our country. All veterans, families and friends are invited.
