Pumpkin contest coming up
CEYLON — There will be an all-you-can-eat fish fry beginning 5 p.m. today at Legends 2 in Ceylon. The menu includes fish, French fries and coleslaw.
Tuesday morning coffee hours in October continue from 8:30-10 a.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for good brew, treats and great fellowship. October is the last month for these Tuesday coffee hours.
Also, there is a coffee lovers group in Ceylon that meets 8:30-10 a.m. each Thursday at Legends 2. They hope to continue these coffee hours all year. Two great opportunities for fellowship.
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have its voters meeting after the service Sunday. All members are urged to attend this important meeting.
City of Ceylon will have a pumpkin-decorating contest from Oct. 21-31. Register at City Hall with your name and phone number, and get a number for the pumpkin.
The pumpkins will be displayed outside of the former City Hall building. They will be judged by number only, no names on pumpkins.
They can be decorated any way, such as carving, painting, markers, masks, etc.
Prizes for first place in each age category will be given. Categories are: 3-7 years old, 8-11 years old and 12-15 years old. Prizes will be awarded Oct. 31.
Parents may pick up the numbers for the child at the City Hall during business hours.
Sounds like a fun way for residents to decorate the town.
