FAIRMONT — The License Bureau in Fairmont is planning a much needed move on Sept. 23, but people need not be too concerned with finding the new site.

Currently located at 204 Lake Ave., the office will move all the way to 228 Lake Ave., into the former Food N Fuel location. While the move may seem inconsequential, Patti Krumholz of the License Bureau explained the needs behind the move, from space allocation to easier access for people to come and go.

“We’re moving that weekend before the 23rd,” she said. “It’s getting remodeled right now and it’s almost finished.”

Krumholz said the relocation has been in the works for the past two months and she is excited to finally see it come to fruition.

“It’s double the space, and we need more room,” she noted. “Our lease came due, and we needed new carpet, new paint, and we have five people. So all that just took effect and we were like, OK, we need the room.

“We like this area and I think it’s just going to be handier for people down there. They’ll be able to get right in and right out. Our parking lot here doesn’t have much room.”

Krumholz said the change should not affect services much.

“We might have a little bit of time late Friday afternoon where we’ll be getting everything hooked up over there,” she said. “That’s just because of utilities and computers that have to be moved.

“Our hours will stay the same, and so will our phone number. It will just be a new address.”
