WELCOME — This Sunday is the first of September so area churches will be back to their usual service times.

St. Peter Lutheran in Ceylon will have 8:30 a.m. services; St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome will have 10 a.m. Sunday services; and Circle of Faith’s Waverly Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran in Welcome will hold 10:30 a.m. services. Also, Waverly, Trinity and St. Paul’s will have a Sunday school rally planned for Sept. 8.

Monday will be the Labor Day holiday, so please be extra careful driving since there may be more traffic than usual. Have a fun and safe holiday.

Welcome senior citizens club will meet noon Monday for a potluck meal and fellowship to follow at the Welcome Legion to celebrate Labor Day together.

Welcome City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. All members are urged to attend.
