Project requires patience

WELCOME — Welcome Legion and Sons of the Legion will meet 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Legion. All members are urged to attend.

Tuesday coffee hours for the month of June continue from 8:30-10 a.m. at the Regional Worship Center (across from Kum & Go) in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee, treats and great fellowship.

Circle of Faith parishes will have summer service hours in June, with a Wednesday evening service 6:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome.

Waverly Lutheran and St. Peter Lutheran in Ceylon will have 8:30 a.m. Sunday services in June.

Martin County survivor celebration supper, sponsored by the Relay for Life group, will be 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Fairmont.

Upcoming events include:

o Sherburn Holiday Festival is the weekend of June 15, with a parade on June 16.

o Relay for Life will be held from 3 p.m. to midnight June 29 at the Martin County Fairgrounds.

o A Red Cross blood drive will be held noon to 6 p.m. July 9 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.

o Welcome Summer Festival is the weekend of July 20.

Hang in there through this road and street improvement project. Patience and kindness are needed by all.

The phrase used a lot has been, “It will be nice when it is done.”

Despite the weather, there has been progress. They hope to complete the east side by July and then do the rest after festival weekend, with completion scheduled for September.

Anyway, those are the plans, if Mother Nature cooperates.
