City seeks residents help

CEYLON — There will be cribbage play beginning with registration at 1:15 p.m. today at the Legends 2 building in Ceylon. Join friends and neighbors for a fun afternoon.

Next Saturday they will play in Welcome.

The public is welcome.

There will be a Ceylon Fire Department fundraiser breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Legends 2 building in Ceylon. The menu includes eggs, French toast, pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee.

There is a charge. Help the fire department raise some funds for needed turn out gear and other needed equipment. Everyone is urged to attend.

The council meeting at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert has been changed to 7 p.m. Monday.

The annual voters meeting is still planned after the 9:30 a.m. service on Jan. 20. All voting members and those interested should plan to attend.

Ceylon City Council recently heard that two pumps needed expensive repairs. They would like to remind the residents of Ceylon that not all things that say they are flushable are really flushable. Please Do not flush the wipes, paper towels, diapers or other unflushables even if they say they are flushable. Toilet paper only please.

The next meeting of the City Council will be 6 p.m. Feb. 12 at City Hall. There is always a time for public comment before the meeting. If anyone wants to be on the regular agenda, please contact the city clerk before the meeting.

Speaking of local governmental agencies, Tuesday is the last day to file affidavits of candidacy for the township offices. Contact your township clerk by Jan. 15.
