Youth groups receive grants
FAIRMONT — Martin County Youth Foundation held its Spring 2017 Grant Awards Presentation on Monday at the Martin County Historical Society Parsonage.
Grants totaling $18,200 were awarded to 14 organizations or projects.
Grants were given to the following organizations and projects:
o Martin County Library
Project: Family Adventure Backpacks, $500
Project: Toddler Tinker Lab, $500
o Fairmont CER-ISD 2752
Project: Youth Activity Scholarships, $2,500
Project: Summer Nature Discovery Camps , $1,750
o Fairmont Area Kinship
Project: Adopt-a-Match Program, $3,000
o Martin County West Community Ed
Project: Recreation Scholarships, $1,500
Project: Welcome Baby Baskets Home Visiting Program, $1,100
o Martin County Preservation Association
Project: Community Mural Project for Youth, $450
Project: Art Classes for Youth, $600
o Truman Public Preschool and ECFE
Project: Field trips, $1,500
o Education Minnesota- Fairmont
Project: Parade book disbursement, $400
o Girl Scouts of MN & WI River Valleys
Project: STEM Robotics Day Camp for girls, $2,000
o Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce
Project: Junior Achievement, $2,000
o Youth First-Fairmont Early Childhood Initiative
Project: Reading is doctor recommended/teacher prescribed, $400
Martin County Youth Foundation was founded in 2000. It acquires, manages and distributes funds to enhance the lives of youth in Martin County. Since its inception in 2000, more than $404,300 has been granted to support youth related programs and activities in Martin County.
