‘Big Boy Burger’ tops menu

Ann Marie’s Kitchen, a new barbecue restaurant in Winnebago, served crowds of hungry customers during its recent grand opening.

Ann Marie’s Kitchen is co-owned by Scott and Katie Reisenbigler, otherwise known as the “barbecue masters.” Their menu features a variety of tasty meals, but what the joint is really known for is its signature “Guy’s Big Boy Burger,” a sandwich that’s true to its name.

The burger is made up of a half-pound of black angus beef, pulled pork, brisket, bacon, cheese, barbecue sauce and coleslaw, all piled onto a warm barbecue bun.

“Guy’s Big Boy Burger” was inspired by Guy Fieri, the host of the hit TV show “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.” The Reisenbiglers’ ultimate goal for their restaurant is to get Fieri to come to Winnebago to conquer the burger that was named after him.

Along with “Guy’s Big Boy Burger,” Ann Marie’s Kitchen has a variety of meals on its menu, including homemade soup, wings, pizza on Sundays, wraps, “sammies,” pasta, barbecue ribs, chicken, pork, sausage and brisket.

Along with the food, the ambiance at Ann Marie’s Kitchen makes customers feel right at home.

Surrounding the dining room are photos of the owners’ mother, Ann Marie, who inspires them to serve their customers to the best of their abilities every day.

Don’t forget to sign the guestbook before leaving. At Ann Marie’s Kitchen, there’s an entire wall reserved for the signature of each and every guest who stops by. After eating, guests are given a Sharpie to sign their names on the wall.

On another wall is a photo gallery of each brave soul who sank their teeth into “Guy’s Big Boy Burger.”

Ann Marie’s Kitchen is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Sundays, 2-7 p.m. is reserved for pizza, dine-in or carry out.

Ann Marie’s Kitchen is also available for catering events: weddings, family reunions, meetings, parties and more.
