John W. Boyd, 29, of St. James was convicted of of domestic abuse-violate No Contact Order; fined $385, sentenced to jail 90 days, stayed 75 days for one year, credit for time served four days, remaining 11 days to be served concurrent with Watonwan County file beginning 7/11/2023, one year supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, no alcohol/controlled substance use unless prescribed by a licensed physician including but not exclusive to non-alcoholic beer and wine products and energy drinks containing alcohol, no alcohol/controlled substance possession, random testing at the request of probation agent or law enforcement, attend and successfully complete a diagnostic evaluation and follow all recommendations, pay all fees and make appointment within 10 days of sentencing, attend and successfully complete domestic abuse classes and follow all recommendations, pay all fees and make appointment within 10 days of sentencing, no contact with victim(s), no direct or indirect contact with the victim, including any social media or third-party contact, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives. Additional charge of domestic abuse-violate No Contact Order was dismissed.

Latell J. Chaney, Jr., 21, of Fairmont was convicted of driving while impaired-alcohol concentration 0.08 within two hours; fined $610, sentenced to jail 90 days, stayed 90 days for one year, one year unsupervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, complete and pay for a comprehensive assessment and follow all recommendations timely, must sign all releases for assessor to obtain collateral information from assigned probation agent(s), assigned social worker(s) if any, mental health treatment provider(s) if any, relevant family/household members and recent treatment providers as part of their assessment, must successfully complete the level of treatment and aftercare recommended rather than choosing a lesser level of care, no alcohol/controlled substance use, no alcohol/controlled substance possession, random testing, attend MADD impact panel, no same or similar. Additional charges of fourth-degree driving while impaired, operate motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, careless driving-operate any vehicle carelessly on street or highway, and unlawful deposit of garbage, litter or like, were all dismissed.

Jeffrey G. Rouse, 65, of Fairmont was convicted of driving after revocation; fined $285. Also convicted of wireless communications device-engage in cellular phone or video call; fined $50.
