Christopher L. Vanryswyk, 42, of Buffalo Center, Iowa was convicted on a felony charge of fifth-degree controlled substance possession-not small amount of marijuana; fined $1,160, commit to Commissioner of Corrections 17 months, stayed for two years, sentenced to jail 74 days, credit for time served 74 days, two years supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, complete and pay for comprehensive assessment within 60 days of sentencing and follow all recommendations in a timely manner, must sign all releases for assessor to obtain collateral information from assigned probation agent(s), assigned social worker(s) if any, mental health treatment provider(s) if any, relevant family/household members and recent treatment providers as part of their assessment, must successfully complete the level of treatment and aftercare recommended rather than choosing a lesser level of care, comply with transfer of probation through interstate compact, cognitive skill training if assigned by agent, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, give a DNA sample when directed, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives. Also convicted of obstruct legal process-interfere with peace officer; sentenced to jail 90 days, credit for time served 74 days, concurrent with 3 other cases.

Jason Engen, 50, of Wells received a stay of adjudication on a charge of domestic assault-intentionally attempts to inflict bodily harm on another; fined $460, one year supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, participate in individual counseling, comply with all conditions of the Human Services/child protection file, complete a domestic abuse class as approved by agent, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, give a DNA sample when directed, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives. An additional felony charge of malicious punishment of a child, and two separate misdemeanor charges of domestic assault-intentionally attempts to inflict bodily harm on another, were all dismissed.

Mathew A. Mus, 36, of Wells received a stay of adjudication on a felony charge of terroristic threats-reckless disregard risk; sentenced to jail two days, credit for time served two days, two years supervised probation, domestic abuse counseling/treatment as directed by agent, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, complete intensive outpatient treatment as scheduled and follow all aftercare recommendations taking first available intake date, follow recommendations of mental health providers until discharged from care. Two additional felony charges of second-degree assault with a

dangerous weapon and domestic assault by strangulation, and a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault-intentionally attempts to inflict bodily harm on another, were all dismissed.

Edixson A. Diaz Canizalez, 26, of Seatac, Wash. was convicted of speeding; fined $360. Also convicted of no insurance-owner violation; fined $200. Additional charge of no Minnesota drivers license was dismissed.
