Marvin C. Zehm, 52, of Ceylon was convicted of fifth-degree controlled substance possession-not small amount of marijuana; fined $610, sentenced to jail 365 days, stayed 362 days for one year, credit for time served three days, one year supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, complete and pay for comprehensive assessment within 60 days of sentencing and follow all recommendations timely, must sign all releases for assessor to obtain collateral information from assigned probation agent(s), assigned social worker(s) if any, mental health treatment provider(s) if any, relevant family/household members and recent treatment providers as part of their assessment, must successfully complete the level of treatment and aftercare recommended rather than choosing a lesser level of care, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives. Shumski, 36, of Welcome convicted of domestic assault-intentionally attempts to inflict bodily harm on another; fined $125, sentenced to jail 90 days, stayed 87 days for one year, credit for time served three days, one year supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, cognitive skill training as directed by agent, no contact with victim(s), no violence to person or property, complete a domestic violence inventory and follow all recommendations, no contact with persons under the age of 18 unless supervised by an approved adult and as directed by probation, don’t demonstrate any type of violent, assaultive or threatening behavior to any person, no same or similar, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives. Additional charges of fifth-degree assault-inflict or attempt bodily harm, domestic assault-intentionally attempts to inflict bodily harm on another, and malicious punishment of a child, were all dismissed.

Anthony Sandoval, 32, of Fairmont was convicted of domestic assault-subsequent violation; fined $185, sentenced to jail 365 days, stayed 275 days for two years, credit for time served 60 days, two years supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, enter and complete anger management as directed by agent and follow all recommendations, complete diagnostic assessment and follow all recommendations, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, no assaultive, threatening or similar behaviors, two years Domestic No Contact (DANCO), do not enter victim’s residence, remain law-abiding. Additional felony charge of fifth-degree assault-two or more previous convictions in three years was dismissed.
