Derek S. Clinton Castanon, 18, of Fairmont received a statutory stay of adjudication on a charge of fifth-degree controlled substance possession-not small amount of marijuana; sentenced to jail nine days, credit for time served nine days, one year supervised probation, sentence to service five days for indeterminate, contact probation officer as directed, complete chemical assessment, follow recommendations of evaluation, no alcohol/controlled substance use, no alcohol/controlled substance possession, random testing, follow all conditions set forth in the probation agreement, complete diagnostic assessment if recommended by agent, contact agent within 24 hours after released from custody, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if change address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives. Two additional felony charges of third-degree controlled substance possession-in school/park/public housing zone, and store controlled substance paraphernalia in the presence of a child or vulnerable adult, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia-use prohibited were all dismissed.

Thane A. Thompson, 27, of Fairmont received a stay of imposition pursuant to Minnesota statutes on a felony charge of possess pornographic work-computer disk/electronic/magnetic/optical image with porn; fined $1,085, sentenced to jail 30 days, serve as work release if eligible, five years supervised probation, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, disclose all electronic devices to agent and install monitoring software as directed, no alcohol/controlled substance use with exception of prescribed medications, random testing, , cooperate with and successfully complete outpatient sex offender treatment as arranged by agent, submit to polygraph examinations as directed, don’t use or possess any pornographic/sexually explicit material, don’t enter any strip clubs or adult book stores or any business where the primary source of business is adult entertainment, don’t enter places where sexual materials are available, no contact with persons under age 18 and contact must be pre-approved by probation and treatment, follow recommendations from psychosexual evaluation in regards to contact with minors, comply with predatory offender registration including photographing, fingerprinting and DNA, psychological-sexual evaluation and follow all recommendations, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives, don’t register to vote or vote until discharged from probation and civil rights are fully restored. 10 additional felony charges of possess pornographic work-computer disk/electronic/magnetic/optical image with porn, were all dismissed.

Thomas J. Cochenour, 19, of Ceylon was convicted of domestic assault-intentionally attempts to inflict bodily harm on another; fined $135, sentenced to jail 90 days, stayed 85 days for one year, credit for time served five days, one year unsupervised probation, no same or similar. Additional charge of emergency telephone calls or communications-interrupt/interfere/impede/disrupt 911 call was dismissed.
