Failure to wear seat belt while in a motor vehicle — Sheldon M. Goodrich, 59, of Easton; Robert J. Stencel, 79, of Minnesota Lake; each fined $110.

Improperly worn seat belt — Stephanie M. Steensma, 30, of Luverne; fined $110.

Hands-free law-initiate/compose/send/ retrieve/read electronic message — Brennan L. Kluender, 16, of Kiester; fined $135.

Lupe D. Koons, 46, of Winnebago was convicted on a felony charge of fifth-degree controlled substance possession-not small amount of marijuana; fined $1,085, commit to Commissioner of Corrections 15 months, stayed for three years, sentenced to jail 12 days, credit for time served 12 days, three years supervised probation, complete updated chemical use assessment within five days and take first available appointment and intake date if treatment is recommended, complete mental health screening within 60 days and follow all recommendations, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, cognitive skill training as directed by agent, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if been charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if change address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, give a DNA sample when directed, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use or possess firearms, ammunition or explosives, don’t register to vote until discharged from probation and civil rights are fully restored. Additional charges of fifth-degree controlled substance possession-not small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, were both dismissed.

Luis F. Diaz Sanchez, 26, of Humboldt, Iowa, was convicted of hands-free law-access video content/images/games/software applications; fined $135. Also convicted of CMV violation-previous seven days of duty status not available for inspection (log book); fined $100.

Brandon L. Anderson, 42, of Blue Earth was convicted of driving after revocation; fined $285. Also convicted of no proof of motor vehicle insurance; fined $200.

Keith A. Barton, 45, of Blue Earth was convicted of unsecured load; fined $145. Also convicted of no or inoperative trailer brakes; fined $100. Also convicted of fail to provide application for reg./transfer within 10 days; fined $100.
