CER to offer upcoming community activities Fairmont Community Education & Recreation (CER) will offer two upcoming community activities. First, the Art of Aging Well: Peel Years Off Your Bio Age will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, online via Zoom. Your chronological age is the number of years you have been alive. Astronomy event at the Fairmont Municipal Airport The Martin County in Fairmont is teaming up with the Minnesota Astronomical Society and will bring an event including telescope viewing and a presentation at 7 pm, Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Fairmont Municipal Airport. The presentation will preface the star and telescope viewing when the sky darkens. Everyone is welcome, regardless of age. Church plans free meal on Wednesday First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont will offer a free community meal beginning 5:30 p.m. until the food is gone on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at their church located at 319 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. The meal, served by the church worship board, will consist of hearty harvest soup, bread, bars, milk, coffee and water. Everyone is welcome. Annual Homecoming Feed coming to FHS Partners in Education will host its annual Homecoming Feed for Fairmont Junior Senior High School from 5-7 pm, Friday, Sept. 20, at the Fairmont Mahoney Field. Food served includes brats, hot dogs, vegan plant-based hot dogs, chips, sauerkraut, cookies, and water. Sports club to host trap-shooting event The East Chain Sportsman's Club will be holding a trap-shooting event beginning at 12 pm on Sunday, Sept. 22 at the club’s grounds located a half-mile north of East Chain on 254th Avenue.
