2026 Candidate Forums
The Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee invites the community to attend the 2026 Candidate Forums on Tuesday, Sept. 29 (5:30 p.m. for Fairmont Mayor candidates, 7 p.m. for Martin County Commissioner candidates) and Wednesday, Sept. 30 (5:30 p.m. for Fairmont City Council candidates, 7 p.m. for State and Federal Office candidates) at the Fairmont City Council Chambers. The forums provide an opportunity to hear directly from candidates running for local, county and state offices ahead of the Nov. 3 election. Forums will be open to the public and broadcast live. Fairmont Service Club to meet
The Fairmont Service Club will meet at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Best Western in Fairmont. The meeting's speaker will be Rich Bradley, who will speak about Martin County Industry. All are welcome to attend.
Community meal at UCC
First Congregational United Church of Christ (UCC) in Fairmont will host a free community meal at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30. The Rowan family and friends will serve chicken and broccoli casserole, homemade dinner rolls, dessert, coffee, milk and water. All are welcome to attend.
