Karaoke will be from 7 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3394 in Fairmont, and from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, at Silo’67 in Fairmont.
Kinship Industrial Commercial Rummage Sale/Auction
Kinship Industrial Commercial Rummage Sale/Auction will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25 and a Dutch auction from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Fairmont. Items include office furnishings, supplies, tools, tables, chairs, electrical materials and more. Proceeds will support Kinship of Martin County youth mentoring programs.
CER perimeno/menopause workshop
A perimenopause/menopause workshop will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, on Zoom. The class will discuss how to get hormone levels measured and what to do with the results; traditional HRT vs bioidentical; and acupressure points to assist in symptom relief and nutritional musts. Participants will leave with multiple tools and techniques for restoring health and well-being. CER Child/Babysitting Safety
A child and babysitting safety class for grades 4 to 12 will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Budd Room (1017) at Fairmont Elementary School. The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute provides everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The YouTube "vlogger" style presentation of the video brings a youthful and high-energy spirit to the program content along with handouts, demonstrations, and additional resources. At the end of class, the students will receive their certification card along with instructions to access a digital copy of the Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Student book. Students must be present for the entire class and complete achievement of the core learning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Registration is required, costs $60, closes Saturday, Sept. 26 and can be completed on the CER webstore. CER Home Alone
A home alone skills class for children grades 2 and up will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Budd Room (1017) at Fairmont Elementary School. This class for children will address several topics relating to being home alone, including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders, and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take home information and discuss it with their child.
