Labor Day Notice

The Sentinel, located at 64 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont, will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7. Subscription or advertising payments, submissions and miscellaneous mail can be placed in the office's outdoor mail chute. Regular office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) will resume and the usual publication will be on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Prairieland Solid Waste Management (PSWM) in Truman will have a Household Hazardous Waste Collection for Martin and Faribault County residents from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Paint, aerosols, cleaners, lawn/garden products, used gas and oil and more will be accepted. For additional information, contact PSWM at (507) 776-3232

Fairmont library Junk Journals

A Junk Journal drop-in event for adults will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Learn to build a junk journal over time. Emergency Preparedness Kit

Building Your Emergency Preparedness Kit, presented by Caroline McCourt and Ben Johnson, will be at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 9, and at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. RibFest at Trimont Town Center

RibFest will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Trimont Town Center. Ribs, covered in locally made Countryside Bar-B-Que sauce, will be served until gone. A full rack costs $15.99, a half rack costs $9.99 and a half rack meal with one side costs $11.99. To place a large order, contact the Trimont Town Center at (507) 639-3908. Social Dance Club to meet

Social Dance Club will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Red Rock Center for the Arts in Fairmont. Dancers of all skill levels are welcome.
