Community Worship in the Park
Grace Lutheran Church will host Wednesday Community Worship in the Park at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Sylvania Park Bandshell in Fairmont. There will be messages from community members and pastors. All are welcome to attend.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Prairieland Solid Waste Management (PSWM) in Truman will have a Household Hazardous Waste Collection for Martin and Faribault County residents from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Fairmont High School (FHS) class of 1961, spouses and friends will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Pizza Ranch in Fairmont.
Chubb House open
The historic Chubb House will be open for coffee time from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Visit to learn more about this historic home and the man who had it built in 1867 for his family, Dr. Orville P. Chubb. City of Lakes Garden Club to meet
City of Lakes Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 4 North Joy Lane in Fairmont. CER Basic Dog Manners
Fairmont Community Education and Recreation (CER) will offer Basic Dog Manners for individuals ages 12 and up (16 and under must be accompanied by an adult) and dogs four months and up from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. on Thursdays from Sept. 9 to Oct. 22, in the northern gymnasium at Fairmont High School. The basics of dog manners will be demonstrated, including heel, recall, sit, down, stand, leave it and off. Please bring up to a 6-foot leather leash to the first session, but do not bring your dog. Registration is required, costs $65 per dog, closes Thursday, Sept. 3 and can be completed on the CER webstore. For additional information, contact CER at (507) 235-3141.
