Fairmont Service Club to meet
The Fairmont Service Club will meet at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Best Western in Fairmont. The meeting's speaker will be Fairmont Mayor candidate Peter Brode. All are welcome to attend.
Fairmont Farmers Market

Truman Library Sign Language Basics
Sign Language Basics with instructor Donna Johnson will be at 3:30 on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Truman City Library. The class will focus on the American Sign Language alphabet and everyday vocabulary. For additional information, contact the Truman City Library at (507) 776-2717.
CREST-supporting ice cream social
An ice cream social will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. The menu includes barbecue, ice cream, bars, cookies and beverages. This event is sponsored by First Lutheran and Waverly Lutheran churches. All proceeds will support CREST in providing assistance to seniors in Martin County. All are welcome to attend.
Martin Co. Fair Sunday schedule
Wristband Day is on Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Martin County Fair in Fairmont. Buildings and midway are open from noon to 6 p.m. Unlimited rides cost $27 and are valid from 1 to 4 p.m. Society horse show will be from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Kietzer Arena, regional 4-H and FFA beef show will be at 10 a.m. at the livestock arena, community worship service with Heart Song will be at 10 a.m. in the park, Timberworks LumberJack show will be at noon, 2 and 4 p.m., 4-H and FFA judging contest registration will open at noon, contest will begin at 12:30 p.m., bean bag toss will be at 1 p.m. at the beer garden, music bingo will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Martin County Arena, 4-H livestock costume contest will be at 2 p.m., wood carving auction will be at 3:30 p.m. on the main road, release time for all exhibits and livestock will be at 6 p.m. and the 4-H exhibit building will close at 7 p.m.
