Martin Co. Fair Senior/Wristband Day
Senior Citizen Day and Wristband Day are on Friday, Aug. 21, at the Martin County Fair in Fairmont. Gate admission is half-price for individuals aged 62 and older. Buildings are open from noon to 9 p.m. Midway opens at 1 p.m. Unlimited rides cost $27 and are valid from 1 to 5 p.m. 4-H Auctions Buyer's Registration Breakfast will be at 8 a.m. at the livestock arena, 4-H horse show will be at 8:30 a.m. at the Kietzer Arena, 4-H Blue Ribbon Auction will be at 9 a.m. at the livestock arena, regional 4-H and FFA livestock must be in barn at 10 a.m., Timberworks LumberJack show will be at 2, 4 and 6 p.m., regional 4-H and FFA goat show at 3 p.m. at the livestock arena, children's pedal tractor pull registration will be at 4 p.m. outside fair office, FFA activities will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the grain bin, New Century Farm Recognition will be at 4:15 p.m. in the park, children's pedal tractor pull will be at 4:30 p.m. outside the fair office, Heart Song will perform from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the park, regional 4-H and FFA sheep show will be at 5 p.m. at the livestock arena, Minnesota State Fair paperwork deadline will be at 5 p.m. to the 4-H office, Midwest Dueling Pianos will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Martin County Arena, auto races will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Fairmont Raceway, Steele Prairie will perform from 8 p.m. to midnight and the 4-H dance will be from 9 to 11 p.m. at the livestock arena.
Church on the Lawn at the fair
Church on the Lawn will be at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, on the main stage at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Fairmont. Donuts and coffee will be served at 9:30 a.m. The service will include three personal faith stories and live band worship. All are welcome to attend.
Marv and Kaat to perform
Marv and Kaat will perform from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, at The Marina Lodge Lakeside Pub and Provisions in Fairmont.
MCHS open hours
The Martin County Humane Society/Carl Nettifee Memorial Animal Shelter (MCHS) in Fairmont will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. To view adoptable pets and additional information, visit mchsofmn.org or contact the MCHS at (507) 238-1885.
