Martin County Fair Veterans Day

Veterans Day is Tuesday, Aug. 18. Gate admission is half-price for veterans. Buildings are open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Midway opens at 5 p.m. 4-H and open class livestock are due simultaneously. 4-H swine check-in will be from 8 to 11 a.m. at the swine barn, 4-H poultry check-in will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the poultry/rabbit barn, 4-H dairy cows and dairy goats check-in will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the cattle barn, 4-H beef check-in and weigh-in will be from 11 a.m. to noon at the cattle barn, mounted obstacle horses entered or day of event from noon to 6 p.m., 4-H meat goat show will be at 1 p.m. at the livestock arena, 4-H lamb lead will be at 3:30 p.m. at the livestock arena, Timberworks LumberJack Show will be at 4, 6 and 8 p.m., 4-H sheep show will be at 4 p.m. at the livestock arena, 4-H horse check-in will be from 5 to 6 p.m. at the horse barn, three-on-three basketball tournament for boys and girls in grades 4 to 8 will be at 5 p.m., FFA activities will be from 4 to 7 p.m. in the grain bin, Great Frontier Bull Riding will be at 7 p.m. at Kietzer Arena and Steve Lang and Bob Petrowiak will perform from 7 to 11 p.m. in the beer garden. Fairmont Farmers Market

Fairmont library Chair Fitness

Chair Fitness will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Various 30-minute chair workouts will be shown. Equipment is not needed. Participants may go at their own pace. For additional information, contact the Martin County Library at (507) 238-4207.

Sherburn Library Sign Language Basics
