Church on the Lawn

Church on the Lawn services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, at East Chain Evangelical Free Church. The service will feature the Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge. Before the service, donuts and coffee will be served at 10 a.m. Bring a lawn chair and a friend. Lunch will be served after. All are welcome to attend. Worship by the Water

Grace Lutheran Church and its ecumenical partner churches will host Worship by the Water at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9 at Wards Park in Fairmont. From a boat, tune radios to 88.1 to listen to the service. Bars and coffee will be served following the service. All are welcome to attend.

Threshing Day

Threshing Day and Antique Tractor Show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, at Heritage Acres in Fairmont. Activities include oat threshing, pork chop on a stick, petting zoo, equipment demonstrations, face painting, vendors, tractor parade at 2 p.m., Galaxy Band performance from noon to 3 p.m. and more. Lemke family, friend reunion

The 50th annual Lemke reunion potluck picnic will be at noon on Sunday, Aug. 9, at the Amber Lake Park in Fairmont. Bring a dish to pass and eating utensils. All family and friends are welcome to attend.

Lewisville Legion karaoke

D2/D-Squared will host karaoke from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, at the American Legion Hall in Lewisville.

Permit to Carry course

Chandler's Conceal and Carry is hosting a MN/WI/FL Permit to Carry course from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Fairmont Trap Club in Granada. Students do not need to have taken Hunter's Safety or have any previous firearms training or experience to take this course. All are welcome. This course will allow students to apply for (or renew) their MN Permit to Carry, allowing them to carry in 35 states. With this class, students can also apply for (or renew) their FL Non-resident Permit to Carry - adding one additional state to carry in for a total of 36. Chandler's will provide everything needed to complete this one-day course. This will include all required paperwork and applications, eye/ear protection, a target, the use of a handgun and ammo at no additional cost.
