Kiwanis to meet
Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet for breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The meeting's speaker will be Jerry Simon of the Heritage Acres Agricultural Interpretive Center. Simon will share recent activities at the Heritage Acres Agricultural Interpretive Center and the upcoming fall events. All are welcome to attend.
CREST Lunch and Learn
The next CREST Lunch and Learn will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, at the Fairmont Christian Church. The program will feature local woodcarver Carl Beckendorf, who will explain woodcarving and display his creations. The program will be followed by a lunch. The program is for Martin County senior citizens. RSVP by Friday, Aug. 7, by contacting CREST at (507) 235-3833. The menu and topics are subject to change. MCHS open hours
The Martin County Humane Society/Carl Nettifee Memorial Animal Shelter (MCHS) in Fairmont will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. To view adoptable pets and additional information, visit mchsofmn.org or contact the MCHS at (507) 238-1885.
