Wednesday Community Worship

Grace Lutheran Church will host Wednesday Community Worship in the Park at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday, at the Sylvania Park Bandshell in Fairmont. There will be messages from community members and pastors. All are welcome to attend.

Fourth of July notice

In observance of the Fourth of July/Independence Day federal holiday, The Sentinel, located at 64 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont, will be closed all day on Friday, July 3, and will not have a publication on Saturday, July 4. Subscription payments, submissions and miscellaneous mail can be dropped in the office’s outdoor mail chute. Regular business hours and publication will resume on Monday, July 6, and Tuesday, July 7, respectively. For additional information, contact The Sentinel at (507) 235-3303.

Kiwanis Club to meet

Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet for breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The meeting’s speaker will be James Rabe, who will share the true history of the Stone Skipping and Gerplunking Club. All are welcome to attend.

FHS class of 1961 for lunch

Fairmont High School (FHS) class of 1961, spouses and friends will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at the Pizza Ranch buffet restaurant in Fairmont.

Fourth of July Street Dance

Fourth of July Street Dance will be from 9 p.m. to midnight on Friday, July 3, at The Garage bar and grill in Armstrong, Iowa. IV Play will perform.
