ECSC Merchandise Shoot

East Chain Sportman’s Club (ECSC) will have a merchandise shoot on Sunday, May 31, half mile north of East Chain on 254th Avenue. The club will shoot 16 yards, 25 yards, oakleys and boon docks. City of Lakes Garden Club to meet

City of Lakes Garden Club will meet at noon on Wednesday, June 3, at 1320 Lucia Avenue in Fairmont. There will be a business meeting to finalize details of our upcoming Garden Party & Plant Swap. Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Prairieland Solid Waste Management (PSWM) in Truman will have a Household Hazardous Waste Collection for Martin and Faribault County residents from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3. Singo to benefit MCHS

Fairmont Women of Today will host Singo at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, at the Fairmont Brewing Company. Prizes will be awarded to winning participants. Proceeds will go to the Martin County Humane Society Carl Nettifee Memorial Animal Shelter (MCHS) in Fairmont.

Fairmont library Great Puzzle Race

Briana Joseph of Fairmont was recently awarded a $1,000 Study Abroad Grant from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi–the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Joseph is one of 75 students nationwide to receive the award. Currently majoring in biology, society and environment at the University of Minnesota, Joseph will use the grant to study abroad in Athens, Greece.
