Grades PreK-1 Girls Basketball Camp
A basketball camp for girls in grades pre-kindergarten to 1 will be from 8 to 8:45 a.m. from Monday, June 15, to Thursday, June 18, at the Five Lakes Gym at Fairmont Elementary School. Using silly songs, games and lots of physical activity, girls will learn the building blocks of basketball skills. This is a non-competitive first look at dribbling, passing, shooting and defense with an emphasis on fun. Wear gym shoes, socks, t-shirts and shorts for comfort. Parents are invited to attend. A t-shirt is included. Registration is required, costs $36, closes June 1 and can be completed on the CER webstore. After June 1, shirts will no longer be available. Grades 2-3 Girls Basketball Camp
A basketball camp for girls in grades 2 to 3 will be from 9 to 10 a.m. from Monday, June 15, to Thursday, June 18, at the Five Lakes Gym at Fairmont Elementary School. In addition to covering basketball basics, girls will be introduced to lay-ups, free throws, advanced passing and defensive skills. Girls should be able to dribble with both hands and shoot at a 10′ basket. In this level, girls will be divided into teams and will begin learning how to play the half-court and full-court game of basketball. Girls will learn to value the team concept as they learn to work together for a common goal. Wear gym shoes, socks, and shorts for comfort. Parents are invited to attend. A t-shirt is included. Grades 4-6 Girls Basketball Camp
A basketball camp for girls in grades 4, 5 and 6 will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. from Monday, June 15 to Thursday, June 18, at the Five Lakes Gym at Fairmont Elementary School. All the basics will be covered, from ball handling to shooting and passing. But this camp goes beyond the basics by introducing offensive and defensive patterns and advanced shooting and passing techniques. Girls ready for this level can dribble confidently with their eyes up, shoot comfortably at the basket and have some experience playing in games. Wear gym shoes, socks, t-shirts, and shorts for comfort. Parents are invited to attend. A t-shirt is included.
