Kiwanis to meet
The Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will gather for its weekly breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The speaker of the meeting will be Betsy Tino and Delila Tino, who will update the members about Fairmont Girl Scout Troop 37816. The public is invited to attend.
NUHS for cookout/open house
The North Union High School (NUHS) Industrial Technology program will have a Cookout and Open House from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at the NUHS Industrial Technology Shop in Armstrong, Iowa. The meal costs $6 and includes a pork loin sandwich, beans, chips and lemonade. Shop tours will be provided. Participants can view the NUHS Robotics Team competition robot and student-built projects. ABC to meet
Armstrong Betterment Club (ABC) will meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at the Armstrong Community Center in Armstrong, Iowa. For additional information, visit the Facebook page, “Armstrong Betterment Club”.
Martin County Master Gardeners will present the free class, Growing and Using Fresh Herbs on from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. The class speakers will be Martin County Master Gardener Dianne Bettin and Cup n’ Saucer/The Cup Truck Co-owner and Chef Seth Lintelman. Registration is required, due Friday, May 22, and can be completed by contacting the Martin County Library at (507) 238-4207. Truman Shred Day
Profinium Bank will have Truman Shred Day from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, May 22, at Profinium Bank and Insurance Agency in Truman. The limit is four bags per vehicle. Glossy paper (excluding wax-coated paper), cardstock-weight paper, folders and staples will be accepted. Cardboard, paper clips and corrugated materials will not be accepted. Participants must stay in their vehicle at all times and place items to be shredded in the vehicle’s trunk for a team member to remove and shred.
