Fairmont Safe Routes To School

Fairmont Safe Routes to School (SRTS) will be on Tuesday, April 19. SRTS provides four safe routes for children to get active by walking and biking to school one day a week during the fall and spring. Walkers and bikers are brought to their respective schools by crosswalk guards and adult volunteers along safe routes. The chaperoned routes will begin at the following locations: Route 1, Corner of Day Street and South Orient at 7:45 a.m., Route 2 at the Fairmont Aquatic Park at 7:30 a.m., Route 3 at St Paul Lutheran School Playground at 7:40 a.m., and Route 4 at Grace Lutheran Church at 7:30 a.m. The beginning locations of each route are also designated SRTS Safe Zones. Parents are encouraged to use the drop points to promote walking for fitness and avoid the congestion at Fairmont Elementary School (FES). Sherburn Library Sign Language Basics

Sign Language Basics will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, at the Sherburn Library. Led by instructor Donna Johnson, this class will focus on the American Sign Language alphabet and everyday vocabulary. For additional information, contact the Sherburn Library at (507) 764-7611.

Fmt library Chair Fitness

Chair Fitness will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. The library will show a variety of 30-minute chair workouts. Equipment is not needed. MLHS/SPL-Truman Grade 8 graduation

Martin Luther High School (MLHS) and St. Paul Lutheran (SPL) School-Truman Eighth Grade Graduation will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, at SPL Church in Truman.
