Fairmont Service Club to meet

The Fairmont Service Club will meet at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Best Western hotel in Fairmont. The meeting’s speaker will be Jeff Balcom, who will speak about his years as a wrestler.

SOTL for Lent services

Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Fairmont will have a Lent midweek service, “What’s He Worth To You?” at 6:30 p.m. with a meal served at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25.

FCUCC for free community meal

First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont will host a free community meal at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25. The hospitality board will serve spaghetti with meat sauce, lettuce salad, garlic bread, cupcakes and beverages. All are welcome. For additional information, visit www.fairmontucc.org.

Bingo at Fmt library

CPR, AED, Naloxone training

Advocates for Health will host CPR, AED and Naloxone Training by 2024 Miss Minnesota Emily Schumacher at noon and 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, at Knights of Columbus Hall in Fairmont. Registration is encouraged and can be completed by contacting jessica@advocates4health.org.

CER Brain Aging

A brain aging workshop will be from 6 to 7:40 p.m. on Monday, March 2, in a Zoom meeting. The class will discuss which ‘superfoods’ reduce the damaging effects of toxins and inflammation on the brain and which nutrients are great for memory, attention, processing information and reducing stress. You will learn simple, easy-to-implement strategies to help your brain stay healthy and alert. Registration is required, costs $29, closes Feb. 26 and can be completed on the CER webstore. CER Dollars for Scholars Help

Dollars for Scholars Help Night will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 2, at the Fairmont High School (FHS) Media Center. Participants will navigate the application process to receive the most points possible for their aspirations, activities and academics. This class is for FHS juniors, seniors or graduates who plan on completing a Fairmont Dollars for Scholars application. CER Afterschool Art-Carved Eraser Stamps

An afterschool art class with Ashley Jensen will be from 3:10 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 3, 10 and 17 at Fairmont Elementary’s School Art Room. In this hands-on class, young artists will design and carve their own custom pink eraser. Registration is required, costs $35, closes Feb. 24 and can be completed on the CER webstore.
