Kiwanis to meet
Early Risers Kiwanis of Fairmont will gather for their weekly breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesdays at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The speaker of the meeting will be Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce President Kandi Menne. The public is invited to attend.
FHS Class of 1970 for lunch
The Fairmont High School graduating class of 1970 will gather for lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Pizza Ranch buffet restaurant in Fairmont.
CER Womens’ Heart Health
Janice Novak will teach a heart health for women workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, in a Zoom meeting. The class will discuss signs, symptoms, and risk factors of a heart attack, hormones, foods that can help prevent and reverse heart disease, helpful nutrients, exercises and the four numbers you need to know that could save your life. CER Metabolism Boosters

Freitag to present at MLHS
Danielle Freitag, a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), author, and the Executive Director of Action169, will speak on preventing exploitation, social media awareness, and the realities of online exploitation at 1:35 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, in the gymnasium at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. This age-appropriate talk will address how social media, online platforms and pornography can expose youth to grooming and exploitation, why adolescents are particularly vulnerable online, practical ways students can protect themselves and seek help, the importance of healthy boundaries, self-worth, and personal responsibility. The goal of this presentation is education, prevention, and empowerment, not fear. Students will be encouraged to think critically, ask questions and understand how to stay safe in an increasingly digital culture.
Analog Games MTG Commander
Analog Games will host Magic: The Gathering-Commander Night from 6 to 9 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) on Friday, Jan. 30, at 207 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. All skill levels are welcome. Decks will be provided if needed.
