Kiwanis to meet

Early Risers Kiwanis of Fairmont will gather for their weekly breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The speaker of the meeting will be Bill Gonnsen of Crystal Bowl Music Healing. The public is invited to attend.

Advent midweek service at SOTL

Advent midweek services will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church, located at 114 East Blue Earth Avenue in Fairmont. The season of Advent celebrates the coming of Christ, first in Bethlehem and his future return in glory. Join us as we look at the Bible songs of Christmas to help us prepare and celebrate the birth of Christ.

Free testers at Recovery in Motion

Recovery in Motion in Fairmont will offer free-of-charge lifesaving Narcan nasal spray and fentanyl test strips to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5 at 1100 Indus Street in Fairmont. Without the test strips, visitors can come and learn more about Recovery in Motion and its mission.

Historic Farm Advertising

Join Jay Grammond for a visually rich presentation exploring Minnesota’s historic farm advertising at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Discover faded barn and silo ads, iconic grain elevators, and the stories of pioneering farmers that shaped the state’s rural landscape. American Legion Friday dinner

The American Legion Auxiliary Post 36 in Fairmont will offer dinner at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5. The menu includes a barbecue sandwich, fried apples, cheesy potato casserole, bars, coffee, water and hot chocolate. Come in and register for the gift basket.

Merry and Bright

Downtown Fairmont Merry and Bright will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5 throughout the Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. Holiday activities include a visit by Santa’s reindeer, raffle drawings, medallion hunt and special promotions by local businesses.

Library Holiday Craft

A come-and-go Holiday Tree Craft for children will be from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. There is no cost to attend. Registration is not required. For additional information, contact the Martin County Library in Fairmont at (507) 238-4207.

Chubb House Christmas Tea

The Historic Chubb House Christmas Tea will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Chubb House in Fairmont. Tea, coffee, sandwiches, pastries and cookies will be served. For additional information, or to schedule a separate guided tour of the Chubb House, contact 507-235-9262.
