Kiwanis to meet

Early Risers Kiwanis of Fairmont will gather for their weekly breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The speaker of the meeting will be Taylor Nawrocki of the Kiwanis Baseball Program. The public is invited to attend.

Silo ’67 for Friday karaoke

Silo’67 will host karaoke at 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, at the Silo’67 bar and grill in Fairmont. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. For additional information, visit the official ‘Silo 67 Facebook page.

Free testers at Recovery in Motion

Recovery in Motion in Fairmont will offer free-of-charge lifesaving Narcan nasal spray and fentanyl test strips to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 at 1100 Indus Street in Fairmont. Without the test strips, visitors can come and learn more about Recovery in Motion and its mission.

Fairmont gets festive

The Santa Fly-in will be at 4:05 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, at the Fairmont Municipal Airport. Bring the children, camera, Christmas wish lists, and meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus as they fly into Fairmont. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will be at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, at 223 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. The Glows Parade will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, from Downtown Plaza to Lincoln Park in Fairmont. Lineup for parade floats begins at 5:15 p.m. at Wards Park. Experience thousands of twinkling lights, creative floats, and the festive spirit of Fairmont, capped off with a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus courtesy of the Glows Committee. UCC for Glows Parade Soup Supper

The First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont will host a Glows Parade Soup Supper from 4:45 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, at the church. The menu includes cheesy turkey vegetable, chicken noodle, ham and wild rice or creamy dill pickle soup, fresh-baked rolls, apple dessert, popcorn, milk, coffee, cider or water. The cost is $9 for adults, and $5 for children 10 and under.

The Talent Studio by Aktion Club

Open Arts Minnesota and Aktion Club Theatre of Fairmont present, “The Talent Studio”, a play about bullying, belonging and celebration of community at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Fairmont High School. The Saturday show will offer ASL and have a relaxed atmosphere. The suggested admission donation is $10. This activity is made possible through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, Thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
