American Legion to meet

The American Legion Auxiliary Post 36 will meet at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 300 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. Donations are being collected for the “No Bake” Bake Sale. Poppies will be sold on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 at Fareway and HyVee. Contact President Velma Schaal at (507) 230-0743 to get involved. The American Legion Auxiliary Post 36 are always accepting new members to help serve the community. If you are interested in joining, contact President Velma Schaal for more information. A reminder to those members under 80, dues of $35 ($10 for junior members) are due by Dec. 31.

The Fairmont High School Class of 1960, spouses, and friends will meet for lunch at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at Pizza Ranch in Fairmont.

People First to meet

People First will hold their monthly meeting from 4 to 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at Pizza Ranch in Fairmont. Play Café brewing at the library

Play Café will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Enjoy playtime that encourages growth and learning for children ages zero to five and their caregivers. Garden Club to meet

City of Lakes Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 2206 80th Street in Fairmont. For additional information and RVSP attendance, contact Leslie Walkowiak at (651) 895-6578. The meetings are open to visitors and new members. Meetings are usually on the first Wednesday of each month, and the location is set by the host/hostess. Cuddle Buddies ‘huddle’ at Fairmont library

Cuddle Buddies will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. This program is for children ages birth to two and an adult caregiver. Learn about the MN DNR Nongame Wildlife Program and the vital role of pollinators, with a focus on southern Minnesota prairie research and monitoring efforts at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. CER Women, Weight and Hormones

Janice Novak will host a women’s hormones and weight management workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10 in a Zoom meeting. The class wi discuss which hormones are involved and what can be done to correct imbalances; concrete solutions for controlling appetite and cravings; major sources of hormone mimicking chemicals; and how to get rid of them; what HRT or birth control pills have to do with weight gain; how to have your hormone levels checked reliably; what steps need to be taken to safely break the vicious cycle of hormone related weight gain. Registration is required, costs $29, closes Nov. 6 and can be completed on the CER webstore.
