Women of Today to meet

UCC to host community meal

First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont will host a free community meal at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29. The menu includes chili, garlic bread, homemade applesauce, bars, cookies, milk, coffee and water. All are welcome.

FHRO hosts fundraiser for Disability Day

The Fairmont Area Human Rights Organization will have a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, at the Pizza Hut in Blue Earth. On dine in or carry out orders, just mention the code “7C” and the group will get 20 percent of your dining experience. All money will be used to hold a Disability Awareness Day at the Martin County Fair in Aug. 2026.

Spoonful by Spoonful

The Lovin’ Spoonful drummer Mike Arturi will present an inside look at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band and their unique blend of American music styles-folk, blues, jug band, rock, and more at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30. Enjoy stories, visuals and music samples from the band’s career, including hits, deep cuts and influences- from Mike’s perspective as their longtime drummer. Purr-anormal Activity

The Martin County Humane Society will host its pre-Halloween event, Purr-anormal Activity, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30 at the Martin County Humane Society in Fairmont.
