CER Silly Snacks

Silly snacks for children entering second grade will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, at the Southern Minnesota Educational Campus in Fairmont. In this hands-on class, kids will learn how to make tasty, healthy (and sometimes silly) snacks while gaining essential kitchen skills. Along the way, they’ll practice measuring, mixing, and using basic tools safely with plenty of time to taste their creations. Instructors are Michele Bisbee and Jordan Young. CER Archery I

Archery I for individuals in grades 5 to adult will be from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, through Friday, Oct. 24, at the southern gymnasium at Fairmont High School. Students will learn about safety, equipment, shooting fundamentals, marksmanship and sportsmanship. Registration is required, costs $41, closes Oct. 13 and can be completed on the CER webstore. CER Archery II

Archery II for individuals in grades 5 to adult will be from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, through Friday, Oct. 24, at the southern gymnasium at Fairmont High School. This course is for youth and adults who have completed Archery I and want to work on their shooting fundamentals and marksmanship. It will include scoring and challenging archery games. The shooting distance will be increased as the archer improves their accuracy. Registration is required, costs $41, closes Oct. 13 and can be completed on the CER webstore. CREST Lunch and Learn

The next CREST Lunch and Learn program will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, at the CREST office in Fairmont, and at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. The program will focus on apples and will be presented by Timberlake Orchards of Fairmont. All Martin County seniors are invited to bring a friend and enjoy this presentation, followed by a home-cooked lunch featuring beef stew, assorted breads and jams, vegetables with dip and an apple dessert.
