Winnebago IOOF to present Installation of Officers

Winnebago City No. 30 Odd Fellows and Starlight No. 11 Rebekah Lodges will have a Joint Installation of Officers ceremony beginning with a potluck at 6:30 p.m. followed by the installation ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Winnebago Municipal Center. An inspirational speech given by the 2024 Pilgrimage for Youth scholarship winner will be replayed. This unique Educational Program brings together high school students from around the world to study and learn about our government. For young adults interested in world affairs, international relations, economics and political sciences this is an opportunity to observe in person while exchanging views on education, politics and religion. An open discussion and information for the 2026 selection process will be shared. The public is invited.

Master Gardeners: Putting the Garden to Bed and Planting Garlic

Join the Master Gardeners at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Learn practical tips for preparing a garden for winter and how to plant garlic for a successful spring harvest. This event is hosted by the University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardeners.
