Fairmont Service Club to meet
The Fairmont Service Club will have its weekly meeting at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Best Western in Fairmont. The featured speaker will be Fairmont High School Girls Soccer Coach Matt Nielsen. Guests are always welcome. For additional information, contact Marlys Rogers.
FHS Soccer Tailgate
The 2025 Fairmont High School Boys’ Soccer Tailgate, hosted by the Fairmont Soccer Association, will be at 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29. Porkchops on a stick, chips, water and a cookie will be served for $8. The soccer teams will compete against MN SW Christian at 5 p.m. for JV/C-Squad and at 7 p.m. for varsity.
FHS Homecoming Tailgate
The Partners in Education Fairmont High School Homecoming Tailgate will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 at Mahoney Field at FHS. The menu includes brats, hotdogs, plant-based hotdogs, chips, sauerkraut, cookie and water for $7 per person. Donations can be made to Partners in Education. Partners in Education was able to fund $20,000 in grant requests during the 2024-2025 school year. This event is sponsored by Rosen`s Diversified, Inc. and Minnesota Motor Bus Inc.
Martin County Lamp/Ballasts collection
Retrofit Environmental and Prairieland Solid Waste Management will host a lamp and ballasts Martin County collection from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 2, in the Tractor Supply parking lot in Fairmont. Cuddle Buddies ‘huddle’ at Fairmont library
Cuddle Buddies will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. This program is for children ages birth to two and an adult caregiver. Stories and playtime will be at the event. There is no cost to attend and pre-registration is not required. CER Crystal Singing Bowls Healing Sessions
Crystal Singing Bowls Healing Sessions will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 8 and 15 in Room 217 at the Southern Minnesota Educational Campus in Fairmont. Each session focuses on the healing power of sound and vibration to calm the body, quiet the mind, and promote a profound sense of relaxation and well-being. As the resonant tones of the crystal singing bowls wash over you, you’ll be guided into a peaceful, meditative state. To fully receive the benefits of the sound, you’ll want to settle into a supported and comfortable posture–whether seated, reclining, or lying on your back. Chairs are available, but students are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, blanket or any props that help them feel fully at ease. CER Overcome Carb Cravings
A workshop to overcome carbohydrate cravings will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6 in a Zoom meeting. The class will discuss a two week plan that will stop cravings, help students lose weight and help keep insulin levels balanced.
