Mini Monday at the library

Lunch with the Arts

Lunch with the Arts featuring Patrick Rasmussen will be held at noon on Sept. 9 at the Red Rock Center for the Arts in Fairmont. Patrick plays a wide variety of musical genres and may accept requests. This is a free concert. Guests may bring a sack lunch. Coffee and refreshments will be available. Safe Routes to School

Safe Routes to School will be on Tuesday, Sept. 9. SRTS provides four safe routes for children to get active by walking and biking to school one day a week during the fall and spring. Children who attend public and parochial elementary schools in Fairmont benefit by exercising with peers in a safe, chaperoned environment. Walkers and bikers are brought to their respective schools by crosswalk guards and adult volunteers along safe routes. The chaperoned routes will begin at the following locations: Route 1, Corner of Day Street and South Orient (7:45 a.m.), Route 2, Begins at the Fairmont Aquatic Park (7:30 a.m.), Route 3 Begins at St Paul Lutheran School Playground (7:40 a.m.) and Route 4 begins at Grace Lutheran Church (7:30 a.m.). The beginning locations of each route are also designated SRTS Safe Zones. Parents are encouraged to use the drop points to promote walking for fitness and avoid the congestion at Fairmont Elementary School.
