FHS Football Tailgate
Support the Fairmont Booster Club from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, at Mahoney Field at Fairmont High School. Profinium Bank will serve barbecue, chips, a cookie and a drink for $6. All proceeds will go to the Fairmont Booster Club. The Fairmont football team will then take on New Ulm, with kickoff at 7 p.m.
FCH to meet for lunch
Fairmont Community Hospital retirees, former employees and nurses will gather for lunch at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. Everyone is encouraged to attend. For additional information, contact Kathy Jorgensen at (507) 236-3184.
CREST Lunch and Learn
The next CREST Lunch & Learn program will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, at the CREST office in Fairmont. The special speaker will be Suzy Sukalski of Sunshine Suzy Corn Nuts. Sunshine Suzy was born with Down Syndrome but refuses to let it define her. She is a fifth-generation farmer, philanthropist, and advocate for the value and purpose in every person. All Martin County seniors are invited to bring a friend and enjoy this inspiring and motivating program that will be followed by a delicious, home-cooked lunch. PSQG to meet
The Prairie Star Quilt Guild (PSQG) will meet at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, at the Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church in Fairmont. Family tree into books
Turn Your Family Tree into a Book with Rebecca Shamblin at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Always wanted to turn your genealogical research into a family history book, but didn’t know where to start? Learn how to break the process into simple steps, from organizing content and writing stories to printing and sharing. The class will explore software options, such as MyCanvas and Family Book Creator, and discuss why preserving your research in print is important. Don’t let your family’s story get lost–create a keepsake for generations to come. This program was made possible in part with a grant from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund of the Minnesota Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment through the Traverse des Sioux Library System.
Relay for Life Survivor Registration
Martin County Relay for Life Survivor Registration will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the Hampton Inn Meeting Room in Fairmont. Refreshments and snacks will be available. Relay for Life will be from 4 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 13 at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Fairmont.
