Trapshoot honoring Greg Kuenle

A Memorial Trap Shoot to honor and remember Greg Kuenle (July 3, 1958-March 4, 2025) will be from noon to 5 p.m. on July 27 at the East Chain Sportsman’s Club. Greg was a member for many years. There will be a traditional five-bird event, Annie Oakley’s and Jeopardy. Each will be $2 per shoot. Lunch and prizes will be provided. Beverages can be purchased from the club. Greg never wanted a funeral; this will be the best way to honor him and celebrate his life. For additional information, contact (507) 848-5342.

CREST Low-vision support

The CREST Low Vision Support Group will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 28, at the CREST office in Fairmont. Joyce Peterson will be presenting adaptive aids that people can use to help individuals perform daily tasks and participate fully in life. Consider sitting in on this meeting if you are experiencing visual problems. No registration is necessary, and refreshments will be served following the meeting. Fairmont Service Club to meet

The Fairmont Service Club will have its weekly meeting at noon on Tuesday, July 29, at the Best Western in Fairmont. FCUCC hosts community meal

First Congregational UCC in Fairmont will host a free community meal at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30. The menu includes hot dogs, beans, chips, cookies and beverages. All are welcome.

Wednesday coffee at the Chubb House

The historic Chubb House in Fairmont is open from 10 a.m. to noon each Wednesday for coffee and more. Stop in to learn more about the first and only brick home in Martin County, and the man who built it in 1867 for his family, Dr. Orville P. Chubb. Get acquainted with Fairmont’s rich history and the volunteers who have worked hard to preserve this building. Healthy Weigh support group

The Healthy Weigh weight loss support group will meet at 5:30 p.m. each Wednesday at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Fairmont. An optional weigh-in will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday Community Worship at the Park

Grace Lutheran Church will host Wednesday Community Worship at the Park at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday, at the Sylvania Park Bandshell. Rain or shine. Messages each week from a variety of local pastors and community members. All are welcome.

Open tennis

All abilities are welcome to play tennis at 6 p.m. each Thursday at the Fairmont High School tennis courts. No need to RSVP. For additional information, contact Dawn Becker (507) 236-2192

Lemke family reunion

The annual Lemke family reunion will begin with a potluck at noon on Aug. 10 at the Sylvania Park Shelter House in Fairmont. Bring a dish to pass and eating utensils. All family and friends are invited. Note the location change.

Mya Mosloski of Granada has been named to the Spring 2025 President’s List at Casper College in Casper, Wyo.

Ethan Grunewald of Fairmont graduated magna cum laude with degrees in computer science and mathematics from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, on May 25.
