Lions Club Fly-in Breakfast

The Lions Club will host the annual Fly-in Breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon on Sunday, June 22 at the Fairmont Municipal Airport. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, eggs, milk, orange juice and coffee. Numerous planes will land on the runway. Airplane rides will be available, weather permitting. Advanced tickets are $8 and $4 for children ages six to 10. At-the-door tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children under six and the fly-in pilots eat free. Tickets can be purchased at Fareway, Profinium, State Bank, Minuteman Press and from any Lions Club member.

Scandinavian Folk Art Class at the Library

A Scandinavian Folk Art Class will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 23, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Participants will create a cross-stitch art piece in the traditional Scandinavian style. Travel Tips at the Library

Amber Pietan of APTA Travel will present tips on traveling on a budget at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 23, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. The free event will cover money-saving strategies and other helpful travel advice. Registration is not required. Mini Monday at the Library

Come for stories and playtime during Mini Monday at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 23, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Mini Monday is for children ages birth to five and an adult caregiver. Fairmont City Band to perform

The Fairmont City Band will perform its third concert at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24 at the Sylvania Park Bandshell in Fairmont. The Fairmont City Band is always looking for new members. No auditions or tryouts. Contact Director Bev Tenney at (507) 235-3479 or Dianne Bittenbinder at (507) 236-7794. Rehearsal will be held at 6 p.m., two hours prior to the concert. Cancellations may be viewed on Facebook. Intermission entertainment will be provided by guitarist Lee Kanten. Interlaken Heritage Days (IHD) committee will operate the concession stand on concert nights as a fundraiser for IHD activities.

Bean bag get-together

Community bean bag games will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday nights at Gomsrud Park in Fairmont. Any individual of any skill level is welcome. Bring boards, bags and a lawn chair if you have them. For additional information, contact Jim at (507) 235-2414.

Summer Playground Program

The Fairmont Summer Playground Program, sponsored by the City of Fairmont and Community Education and Recreation (CER), will be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. from June 24 to Aug. 14 at local parks. This program is available to children grades one to five. Younger children may attend if accompanied by an adult. Join for sports, crafts, games, free play, snacks and more. June 24, 25, 25, July 22, 23, and 24 will be at Gomsrud Park. July 1, 2, 3, 29, 30 and 31 will be at Lincoln Park. July 8, 9, 10, and Aug. 5, 6 and 7 will be at Amber Lake Park. July 15, 16, 17 and Aug. 12, 13 and 14 will be held at Sylvania Park. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held at the Southern Minnesota Educational Campus (SMEC) in Fairmont.
