Venmo Safety with Nickie Welsh

Nickie Welsh will teach Venmo safety from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, in a Zoom meeting. In this class, you’ll discover how to securely pay friends and businesses, as well as receive money without the need for cash or checks. Join us to master Venmo and handle mobile payments with ease and security. Fee: $25. Registration is required, costs $25, closes June 20 and can be completed on the CER webstore. MCHS bake sale Saturday

The Martin County Humane Society will have a Bake Sale Fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 21 at Fleet and Farm Supply/Ace Hardware in Fairmont. Proceeds from the sale will help with expenses for the animals at the shelter. Gluten-free options will be available. Everyone is welcome. Church on the Lawn

Church on the Lawn will be at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 22, at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church. The service includes live band worship, Bible teaching and kids’

programs. Prior to the service, donuts and coffee will be served at 10 a.m. Bring a lawn chair and a friend. The public is welcome. In case of inclement weather, they will meet inside the church. For more information visit http://www.eastchain.com

Fox Lake Golf Club pork feed

A pork chop feed will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, at the Fox Lake Golf Club. The pork chops are grilled by Martin County Pork Producers. Additional foods include baked potatoes, baked beans and drinks for purchase. Tickets are $15 pre-sale, and $17 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at Fox Lake Golf Club, Welcome State Bank, Triumph State Bank, Farmer’s State Bank in Trimont and Dunnell and Bank Midwest in Sherburn.

College News

Gray Heille, of Fairmont, has been named to the University of Wisconsin-Stout Dean’s List for the spring 2025 semester. Heille majored in BFA Animation and Digital Media. The award is presented to students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

Carissa Saxton, of Granada, has been named to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s List for the spring 2025 semester. Saxton studies at the College of Health and Human Services.

Ethan Grunewald of Fairmont has been named to the spring 2025 Dean’s List at Luther College. To qualify, a student must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.
